Why did Mungaaru Male become the 1st movie to run in a multiplex ?

A record of sorts has been created, and that too by a Kannada movie, now that is what I term WOW (Wonder of Wonders). Your typical movie runs say for 5 shows a day (if not more) during the 1st week of its release in a Multiplex, then slowly the number of shows reduce, finally after a hit film runs for over a 100 days (Max) it vanishes to re-appear in DVD format.

But a small time Kannada movie starring absolute no-bodies in the Kannada Film industry (Sandalwood) runs for a year, yes let me repeat a whole year in a multiplex...now who would have thought this would be possible ?

Why did the movie click in spite of not having any major star who has acted in huge hits apart from Mr Anant Nag ?
Why did the movie click despite having a not-so-noted director ?

Why has it reaped in so much money for the producer who had to distribute the film himself at first ?

Here are my thoughts, a repeat again, these are my thoughts and my thoughts only :D on how come Mungaaru Male achieved the almost impossible.

1. People got so tired of watching all those Macchu/Longu films that when such a cushy mushy movie came in, they flocked to watch.
2. This movie became a movie that people of all languages came to watch due to the hit, cos their kannadiga friends could not stop raving about it.
3. Watching the same Shivaanna, Puneeth, Uppi do the same things with newer and newer heroines is now passe'.
4. The sheer thrill of photography/cinematography that the viewer experiences on screen, showcases the splendor of Jog like never before.
5. Ganesh and his charisma, innocence in his eyes, and witty dialogues galore
6. Manu-Murthy, or should I call him melody-murthy, the music created and compiled by this man made even non dancer's dance and even non-hum'ers hum.
7. The advent of talented hindi singers into Kannada songs.
8. The tragedy that strikes Ganesh, which made the end memorable.
9. And this movie showed that love finally gets to win despite all the violent/action flicks that go on and on.

Finally this movie showed that if you plan properly, have a budget that you have pre-decided should not exceed, spend time on your script and your dialogues, and having the complete picture of where you will shoot what in Karnataka, a movie can be a bumper blockbuster.

What has happened in the aftermath.
1. Grapevine has it that the producer Mr Krishnappa a land realtor has now opted to sell his land at Rs 100 less than before (astonishing that it is happening in B'lore)
2. Krishnappa now is going to stand for elections from Nelamangala
3. Pooja Gandhi now is a top Kannada heroine, acting with seasoned veterans and new-comers alike.
4. Ganesh is now top class Golden star Ganesh, who has delivered 4 hits in a row
5. Yograj Bhat is now the man with the "Midas" touch
6. Character artist's who played the role of the mothers of both the hero and the heroine, now have moved out of T.V serials and now rule the roost playing the mother's role of most kannada actors.
7. Jog falls has witnessed renewed interest
8. Now Pooja Gandhi's Sister is trying to be the new kid on the block in Sandalwood
9. Now a days every kannada movie should have atleast 1 song by Sonu Nigam and another by Kunal ganjawala
10. Various places of Karnataka are now being showcased in every movie, instead of the European places and the places of Malayasia.

As a last line, lemme tell you that the first time I watched this movie, I had the privilege of watching it with Ganesh himself ;)
