Yahoo !!! versus Gmail Redux!!!

Hello Everybody!!!,
Its been an astounding year and there have been a lot of changes that have happened. It has now been eon's since I found the time to write about the stuff that is happening around, So, Here goes!!! :)

This blog post is a comparative post wherein I present to you 10 reasons to mention why I happen to like a lot in Yahoo mail as opposed to Gmail. By this post I hope to showcase the difference that I have felt (from the time Marissa Meyer's made the transition from Google to Yahoo)

Reason # 10

A More Accommodative Yahoo

Yahoo allows me many inclusive options to get onto Yahoo, namely the ones that you see in the image above, FB and Lo Behold Google is also included.
The Gmail option enhances and showcases multiple options of the Internet Giant, A wonderful case of marketing their products. A product owners dream of marketing come true.

Reason#9

No Chat or should I call it Hangout in the Landing page

Yahoo does not let me be visible to all my contacts as soon as I login and therefore I do not get any pings. I do not remember when was it that I turned off a chat feature in Yahoo but it does not appear in this new look Yahoo mail
The Gmail chat\Hangout option might be good for some age segments, however for me they are a source of minor distraction, especially if I left the window open the last time I logged in. I have to explicitly log out from this feature.

Yahoo asks me for Feedback

Yes, Yahoo Mail asks me for feedback :-)
Gmail, please let me know where I can find the feedback button quickly.

Reason#7

Fewer number of Clicks to create a filter to move messages from Inbox to folders
In Yahoo mail, I have to click 6 times with a mouse to create a filter to move messages from the Inbox to a separate folder every next time it is sent across to me.
In Gmail I have to click 7 times with a mouse to create a filter to move messages from the Inbox to a separate folder.

Reason#6

Cool slider panel when it comes to click-drag an email into a folder

Yahoo mail provides me with a cool slider panel that pops up automatically when we click drag an email into a folder
The Gmail folder vertical folder moving looks old and dull

Reason#5

Fantastic messages when action's are done



Yahoo Mail provides me with a sense of satisfaction when I cleared up my Trash folder.
In contrast Gmail's messaging was dull...and nope they did not make me feel like a Hero!!!

Reason#4

Open Spam and Trash Folder

Yahoo Mail has the Spam and the Trash in the direct Menu bar on the left which is a breeze to click and open.
The number of times I have cursed myself on first having to scroll to the very end of the folder list to click the "More" button and in case I happen to scroll too fast, I end up getting up the chat list.

Reason#3

Go to next email after deleting an email

Yahoo Mail delete after reading takes you to the next email in the list.
Gmail redirects you to the Inbox screen after deleting the email, and I have to click the immediate next email to see it and read it. Extra clicks again,
Being a Human factor engineer nothing irks me than extra clicks.

Reason#2

Only one tab for all my emails

Yahoo Mail has just one tab that displays all of my emails.
Gmail brought out these extra tabs "Primary", "Social" and "Promotions" and now I have to check 3 tabs instead of one and to make matters worse, the filters that I created do not work :(
Though I like the extra freshness that this brought up. I like things kept as in "Simplistic Design"

Reason#1

Yahoo is my oldest and faithful ally

My Yahoo Id is my oldest and is still with me, I hope it will remain for some more time to come.

Gaalipata .... Hype ???? Hope Not !!!

Today marks the day Mungaaru Male Part II or rather the next movie that has the Yograj Bhat - Ganesh combination part II is released. There has been a lot of eager anticipation and tongue in cheekiness regarding the movie. Will it prove to be a hit or will it die down in a whimper ? This my friends is left to be seen. Idhu Mussanje Maathalla Mussanje GoLu

Kiccha Sudeep in a new avtaar, and I went along to watch his latest offerring Mussanje Maathu, due to wifey's persistence of going to the theater and watching him. After the 1st reel of this film the laughter all but died away, then started my GoLu (for those who are learning kannada it means An evening of sorrow). Thankfully it was just Rs 40 per ticket, would have definately cried if I had watched it in a Multiplex. The story goes like this Sudeep is this Agony Uncle on Radio Mirchi Sakkath Hot maga and runs a daily evening Radio Show, where in people from different walks of life dial in and share their cuppa sorrows. Mr elegant personified Sudeep lends then a supporting shoulder (thru air waves) and suggests a few words of pearly wisdom.
